Happy Heiny's pocket diapers feature custom milled fleece and no leg casings, which means better fitting diapers and better-contained messes. This diaper will leave NO red marks on your baby's skin. The diapers are designed to have the fleece roll out so the only thing that touches your child's delicate skin is the soft fleece.
Happy Heiny sizes are generous, please do not upsize.

To measure your baby's 'rise,' measure from about his/her navel, down between his/her legs and back up to the point on his/her back where the top of the diaper would be.
X-Small and Small sizing notes
Happy Heiny pocket diapers in size XS (newborn) will fit the tiniest of babies, as little as 5 pounds! Crossover tabs are already added to accomodate the smallest babies. Average sized newborns (7-8 lbs) will fit into the XS Happy Heinys for about 6-8 weeks. If you don't want to invest in newborn sizes, you can always request Happy Heiny size small diapers with crossover-tabs added. They will be a little bit big at first, but will last much longer than the newborn size. However, it is nice to have a few newborn sized dipes on hand just to get that perfect fit coming home from the birthing center or hospital! Please also note that x-small diapers are no longer available in prints.
Medium and Large sizing notes
Once your baby reaches size medium Happy Heinys, he or she will stay in them for a long time- most likely a year or more! Babies change shape as they grow. When they reach maximum chunkiness, just before beginning to cruise and walk, it may seem that they are nearing a size large Happy Heiny. However, once they begin cruising, walking and then running, they tend to grow taller but not wider, and the medium Happy Heinys continue to fit. Once they outgrow the rise on the medium, larges fit well. To achieve the best fit with your Happy Heinys, measure your child's rise and thigh and take the measurements into account when deciding on size.
