Do I need newborn cloth diapers?
I started my two girls out in mostly newborn size diapers. My firstborn weighted only 4 lbs 6 oz so I most definitely needed newborn diapers for her. It took her a few weeks to grow into her Kissaluvs size 0. There weren't as many choices for newborn/preemie cloth diapers then as there are now. Mommy's Touch Newborn AIOs would have been wonderful for her. She fit in her newborn diapers for at least 4 months, so it was a very good investment. Daughter #2 weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and she used the same newborn diapers her sister had used, plus some more I just had to try out like Swaddlebees Newborn Fitteds and BumGenius Newborn AIOs. She only fit into them for about 2 months, but I was still glad to have them. Plus, I sold most of the diapers afterwards and recouped some of my expenses. So, yes, I think newborn diapers are worth it for many babies. Especially if you plan to have more kids, so you can use the same diapers for several children.

If you normally have, or think you may have an 8+ lb baby, then you may want to just invest in smalls or even start right out with One Size diapers if you want.
